Comments for ERP rise

Few days ago, there was an article on Channelnewsasia.com with the minister commenting that easing up on congestion charging on roads will be detrimental to both motorists and businesses in the long run. That was the response for the recent rise in ERP charges and additional gantries around the country. To a certain extent, thats a fair enough statement but there are some comments he made that I feel that the TM is making a fool out of himself and not being professional
.
Here are some of the statements he made
.
"And on comments that evening ERP charging is taking a toll on family life, he said the alternative would be to get stuck in traffic and still end up getting home late." (source: channelnewsasia.com)
.
My response is: This is telling me that the govt is not giving the ppl any choice (not that it has ever).. either pay up or get stuck in traffic. the thing is, even with the increase, traffic will still be worse. and given the pressure and workload back home, workers are ending at 8pm and given thats a non-peak period, the hardworking souls still need to pay to get home and have a nice warm family dinner.
But I agree that there will be a increase sooner or later given the economy situation. But to make such a statement is just showing how "caring" the minister is.
.
I quote
"We have not taken the populist road. We have said if this is the right thing to do and the situation calls for it, we would do it and in the case of congestion charging, I know it's difficult, it's an unpopular measure, motorists who are affected are unhappy, but it is something that is necessary - something that we will do so as to ensure that Singaporeans continue to enjoy living in a city, in a garden, and not a city in a carpark!" The reality is that as cars try to avoid ERP, other roads get congested and more gantries are put up on arterial roads. So really there is no avoiding ERP." (source: channelnewsasia.com)
.
My comment is
.
1st of all, what a statement, "city in a garden, not a city in a carpark" HELLO! we dont care whether it is a garden or car park, we just want to get back HOME!.. garden is a term used for tourists and we already know the direction that we are in.. continue to impress the WORLD!
.
"Theres no avoiding ERP", once again, this shows how "tactful" our govt is..u either PAY UP and shut up or don't drive. don't avoid??, what an idiotic statement. (why dont we spend less on sponsoring overseas students and use that money to subsidise the drivers? don get me started on that topic!!)
WE wont be enjoying living in a garden that has a gantry at every entry and exit. Drivers avoid expressways and get into arterial roads because they rather be a little bit slower than to pay another 3 or 4 bucks. installling ERP gantries on arterial road until late is ridiculous.
We should become a walking country, thats where we will be taking a stroll in a garden! who knows, we may have still have to pay tax for using the footpaths. FART "Footpaths And Road Tax".
.
Anyway, public transport is the way to go.. thats what happening to every country. More public transport commuters, prices still increase, no. of trains and buses stay the same, still have to squeeze and "excuse me". and the ministers will have a non-congested road to travel on and park anywhere they like.
.
Anyway, my point is made, I'm like the average citizen, complaining about an increase in everyday expenses, but what disappoints me is the kind of Minister we have, who make silly statements, maybe he just doesnt have good enough advisors supporting him. disgraced to have the same surname as him.

TIPS ON FILLING PETROL IN YOUR VEHICLE

Woahhh..Family and Friends. I am back. Surprise!!!!! or Just OK he is back so what??...(haha)

Anyway I bring u good tiding on a very very interesting n important tips. I am sure u people will benefit n save a lot of money "big big money okay" in the long run lah of course. The saying in Bahasa Malaysia "Sikit sikit lama lama jadi Bukit". Translated as: "Little by little in the long run will be a mountain". At the present Global situation where all things starting from things alive to animated, the prices will be increasing on a minute to minute basis.

So here it goes, how to save money while filling your vehicle.

1. ONLY BUY OR FILL UP YOUR CAR OR BIKKIE IN THE EARLY MORNING WHEN THE GROUND TEMPERATURE IS STILL COLD.
Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground, the denser the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening.... your litre is not exactly a litre. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products play an important role. A 1degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.

2. WHEN YOU'RE FILLING UP, DO NOT SQUEEZE THE TRIGGER OF THE NOZZLE TO A FAST MODE.
If you look, you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode, you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapours that are created, while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.

3. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL.
The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated, so that every litre is actually the exact amount.

4. ANOTHER REMINDER, IF THERE IS A FUEL TRUCK PUMPING INTO THE STORAGE TANKS, WHEN YOU STOP TO BUY, DO NOT FILL UP - most likely the petrol/diesel is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom. Hope, this will help you get the maximum value for your money.

DO SHARE THESE TIPS WITH OTHERS! LET’S SHARE INFORMATION AND BENEFIT ALL, FOR THE BETTER OF MANKIND.

So thats it, Lets be happy and spread loves around.

LOVES TO ALL OF YOU PEOPLE OUT THERE. Muackkkkkkk...Muackkkkkkk...Muackkkk

News of Today

Above are Newslines for the past week.

Censor Board rates movies - G, PG, MA15, RA, etc. How do we rate news that is happening all over the world today?

Murder, Killing, Stabbing, Robbed, Attacked, Chopped, Drugged, Raped, Suicide-Bombing, Axed... Death seemed to the common word in local & global news.

Is this how the world is today? World made up of people, a world looked so weary.

  • Is it something we are eating that is wrong?
  • Is it the weather becoming too hot leading to aggression?
  • Is it the media showing too much violence?
  • Is it that parental guidance has no effect now?
  • Is it the education system has a wrong focus?
  • Is the law net too loose?
  • Is it because we have nothing better to do, besides looking at computers all day that we decide to go on a violent-spree?
  • Is it the poverty?
  • Is it because we can't find the Love?
  • Or is it just a simple way for those up above to clear-out & re-vamp the human race?

That's all for the News Headlines.

Correlation between Obesity & Hours of Sleep

Dear all,

This is an article I've read from SMH.com.au on Health & Lifestyle. Thought it might be interesting for a read.

People who sleep fewer than six hours a night - or more than nine - are more likely to be obese, according to a new US study that is one of the largest to show a link between irregular sleep and big bellies.

"The data is all coming together that short sleepers and long sleepers don't do so well," Kramer said.

The study is based on door-to-door surveys of 87,000 US adults from 2004 through 2006 conducted by the National Centre for Health Statistics, part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In another measure, nearly half of those who slept nine hours or more each night were physically inactive in their leisure time, which was worse even than the lightest sleepers and the proper sleepers. Many of those who sleep nine hours or more may have serious health problems that make exercise difficult.

Other studies have found inadequate sleep is tied to appetite-influencing hormone imbalances and a higher incidence of diabetes and high blood pressure, noted James Gangwisch, a respected Columbia University sleep researcher.

"We're getting to the point that they may start recommending getting enough sleep as a standard approach to weight loss and the prevention of obesity," said Gangwisch, who was not involved in the study.

Insight: US $20 Dollar Bill

1) Fold a US$20 bill in half...

2) Fold again, taking care to fold it exactly as below...

3) Fold the other end, exactly as before...

4) Now, simply turn it over...

What a coincidence! A simple geometric fold creates a catastrophic premonition printed on all US$20 bills!!! COINCIDENCE? YOU DECIDE

As if that wasn't enough, here is what you've seen...

Firstly The Pentagon on fire, then The Twin Towers:

And now.. Look at this!

TRIPLE COINCIDENCE ON A SIMPLE US$20 BILL

You know what gets even better?? 9 + 11 = $20!!
[September (9), 11th]

This is too interesting to ignore~

Do you believe in fate? destiny? an insight to prevailing life?
