Wimbledon Open

Now that the soccer season is over, as a sports fanatic, attention is turn to any sports that is available on TV.

Wimbledon Open 2007, 1st round starting on Monday, as usual, the king of grass, Roger Federer is the favourite, followed by the clay prince, Rafael Nadal.

Is a pity Federer was not able to complete his Grand Slam collections with yet another failure French Open, this time he got really close. a losing finalist to who else but of of course, the Spaniard wizard.

Would the story have the same ending in London this year? with the Swiss Guy holding that prestigious trophy he has held above his head for the past 4 years? or will Nadal prove that he is not a one court expert? how about a young unknown player re-writing the whole history of Wimbledon.

The ladies open tournament is always up for grabs, sharapova, henin, mauresmo are the few names I expect to be in the quarter finals list.

1st game on the Centre Court, the grass king himself, Federer taking on Gabashvili. will there be an unexpected upset?

enjoy the tournament.

Hungry Hungry Hippo

Hippopotamus comes from a Greek word - "water/river horse". Translated into Chinese is also similar "河马" meaning "water horse". However Hippos are more closely related to a pig, then a horse. Then again, some research has shown that Hippos have DNA relating to whales & dolphins.
  • 2nd/3rd heaviest land mammals (after the Elephants & much debated White Rhino)

  • Hippos have webbing between their toes, which assists in dog-paddle swimming style

  • They can't swim! And their bodies are too dense to float. They simply walked, on tip-toes like aquatic ballet dancers, pushing themselves through the water.

  • When a Hippo yawns, it's not because it's lazy & sleepy. Because its angry! Becareful the next time when you see one with its mouth open.

  • One of the ways for Hippos protect themselves from enemies by giving them a dung-shower! By swaying, swaking & rotating their tails to spray their excrement.

  • Hippos have T-shaped pupil, which allows them to see above water and below water at the same time.

  • Back to the picture, Hippos have an average running speed 30 - 40km/h for a few hundred metres. This stats have proved Hippos can outrun many humans.
Morale of the story:

Never judge the anything by its looks.
And also, run when you see a Hippo with its mouth opened.
Or else, you might get dung-showered!

helo o'people:) something to share with and hope may help:

Some people with pain in joints/spine/body.
1. fry coarse salt.
2. let it cool.
3. apply on affected area.

Also, hv heard of people having hair loss.
1. prepare a pail of salt water n rinse scalp/hair.
2. this takes about 2 weeks to 1 month.
3. this method can prevent hair loss BUT cannot help to grow new hair OK ?

LETS GET RICH

U know, I always read, think day in, night out, dreaming of getting rich like Bill Gates. Recently, my get-rich mentor gave a speech, so sharing here with u all. So if any of u get rich , don't forget who shared the idea with u ..Okay.

Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they do not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Here's what he said:-

  • Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
  • Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
  • Rule 3: You will NOT make $40,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
  • Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure
  • Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
  • Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
  • Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
  • Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
  • Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
  • Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
  • Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Okay now u have read and absorbed n digested. Now go out n make all the money and be rich.

OOOppsssie, guess those are not the rules to be rich, however, hope it will inspire u to see the reality n in return make money be rich , no??? Apa tunggu lagi, move that butt n go

Cheers

Did you know... Part 01

Did you know... ...

**Hummingbirds can weigh less than a penny**

= Penny weighs approx. 2g? Hummingbird's wings beat @ 100 times in a second, eats twice as its weight in food per day and its ability to fly backward. They also have a tongue to lick the nector from the flowers.

**Camels have three eyelids to protect themselves from blowing sand**

= Yes, this is true. Camels are equipped with a thin 3rd eyelid protected by long eyelashes, so it can see through the harsh desert storm. They also have small, hairy ears & nostrils that can close completely to keep flying sand from entering.

**Dolphins sleep with one eye open**

= It's true. Dolphins are conscious breathers. Sleeping dolphins can be seen resting or floating on the surface with one eye open. They alternate the eyes throughout their entire nap. If they were to go unconscious, as we do, they would drown.

**Owls are one of the only birds who can see the colour blue**

= Maybe? Debates on this were still unresulted. Although owls often hunt in low light conditions, ability to see colours would be of no advantage. However research found on Little Owls are able to distinguish yellow, green & blue; and had problems with colours red & grey.
*Little Owls was the messenger for Goddess of Wisdom - Athene, which coined the phrase "As wise as an Owl".

**Fabric silk are silkworm spit**
Remember that nice silk blouse? Most often we spent extra bucks on? Silkworm's silk spits out a thread of gooey liquid forming the silk fabric. So that nice silk blouse you spent a fortune on is actually just worm spit.
[Hmm.. good one to think about...]

How's that!!!
